If there’s one thing I like my earrings to be it’s BIG… no wait, if there’s two things I like my earrings to be it’s BIG and BEAUTIFUL… uhhhh, if there’s three things I like my earrings to be it’s BIG and BEAUTIFUL and UNIQUE. Hah!  You weren’t expecting the Spanish Inquisition, were you?

Amanda Rudey’s designs are all of those things (well, except for the Spanish Inquisition part).  This particular design is called “Moonbeam” and are made of 18K yellow gold vermeil and have chain details with wrapped smoky topaz and white topaz stones. They measure 2.5 inches in length and 2 inches in width, and have a fishhook closure.  I love them because not only are they big, they are light and I can literally wear these for hours on end and almost forget they are there.

Though Amanda Rudey is not an inexpensive designer, her jewelry designs can be occasionally be found discounted on flash sale sites and Amazon.  Though I couldn’t find another pair of the Moonbeam design I did find several of Rudey’s earring designs on Amazon for a very reasonable price!  These apatite hoops are definitely calling my name.  Must resist, unless of course I’m forced into the comfy chair…

If you don’t get them, my apologies for the Monty Python references.  Ask your parents.
