I still haven't heard from the flute lady so I ordered a DVD that is "soup to nuts', so to speak.  It is coming from Canada and I found it about a month ago on E-bay.  I put it on my watchlist as a backup just incase I didn't hear from the flute people regarding how to learn how to play.  The guy's DVD shows you how to hold your flute, care for it,practice with him and learn how to play.  It sounds like just what I need to get started.
In other news areas:  I called my insurance co. for a status as to where we were regarding the letter of medical necessity for the TiLite wheelchair.  I was told I was approved!!!! Shocked Grin  I was amazed to say the least!  Usually ins. co deny you off the bat and then you have to go through the appeals process.  I doubled checked with the provider that is handling the TiLite wheelchair that I need/want and they told me they got the approval just alittle while ago and the ink was still wet!!!
I was so surprised because the titanium wheelchair is custom made and more expensive than the usual wheelchair that is approved by ins. companies.  So if all goes as planned, I'll be responsible for 20% of it.  Around $1000.00
I've chosen a color called Scarlet Ice with black upholstery and details.  It'll match my cell phone color!! Cheesy   If I can get a color called Tickled Pink; I'm all over it! Grin
C came home last night!!!! Cool  Not only being in a car for 4 or 5 hours to come to NJ,he took the trin one stop to Penn Station, but there was a disabled train in front of the train he was on sooooooooo they sat for over an hour!!! Roll Eyes Angry  When the train finally moved he had to take another trin to get home.  That was another hour or so.  He started out at 12:30 and walked in the door around 8!  I'm just glad he's home.  Without Shasta here it is very lonely. Sad  Even the cat and birds don't come close to having my little pup with me.  When the time is right I'll get another bichon from a rescue or shelter.
I'm waiting for the brace guy to come with my new AFO(ankle foot orthodic).  I then will order my new sneakers, which are very cute!   They are grey and pink and will accomodate the AFO.  New Balance works, but I found these for $5 less and they're made for an AFO accomodation.  Saving money, who doesn't like that?!

It sounds like things are going better for you.  Congrats on winning one from the ins. co.  As you say, they are difficult to deal with, to say the least.  Love the idea of the red wheelchair.  You go, girl!!

Thanks!  I really wanted that light shade of pink, but they don't do that color for titanium wheelchairs. Sad  The scarlet ice is pretty though.  I got the provder's ins. guy on the phone yesterday and got it ordered.  Since it's custom made; I don't think I'll have before a month's time. Sad  At least I don't have to go through the appeals process. Cool  This is one less thing to worry about.  Hell, it's about time I caught a break!
The brace guy came yesterday.  Got my new brace.  Have mixed feelings about it.  It's uncomfortable and I always feel like I'm lurching forward. Huh Angry   This brace comes up to alittle below my knee to keep my knee from locking.  My metatarsals hurt.  Might be because I have get used to it. It has a plastice screw adjustment at the top back of the achilles tendon and bottom of the ankle.  I can adjust how much my leg goes forward to help with the tightness of the achilles tendon.   The old brace didn't have that and it did not come up as high below the knee.  As with all else with this blasted disease, I just have to adjust and give it time. Yesterday was a busy day for C and I.  We took  a long walk with the wheelchair to go to the vet's and the groomer's.  I wanted to get cookies for each of them as a thank you for taking care of Shasta over the years.  I had always crocheted things as Christmas gifts and sewed cosmetics bags with vegan lip balms.  So this is kind of like a closure.  I was fine when I dropped off the cookies at the vet's office.  There was only Christine there and she and I knew eachother from years ago when I took my ferrets to a Staten Island vet that she worked for.  Maybe I was fine because all the emotional stuff came out when Shasta was put to sleep.  The groomer's is on the same avenue only 10 blocks further.  Shasta had seen this vet and groomer all her life.  There is a long history here for me between the both of them.
I lost it when I got to the groomer's. Cry  I think because they didn't know that Shasta was gone until I told them.  I'm getting teary now!  The groomer's loved her because she was always so good when she went.  They would tell me I could stay because I was one of the nice people that wasn't crazy.  They have a few customers that when they come you wish they would just drop off their dog and go!
I did tell the groomer that I would want to go through a bichon rescue the next time I get a dog.  The groomer's sister is the receptionist there and I am just as friendly with her as I am the groomer.  The groomer has a lot of contact with different rescues so as with vet's office knowing I'll want to go through a rescue, I'll have another dog soon.  I think I'll be ready in a few months.  We'll see.  It's all so new right now and I don't want to rush it.  It's unfair to me and the new dog.  This grief is an emotion that I have to go through and let it run its course.  Time will help, I hope.
I did get lots of goodies in the mail yesterday when I got home from being out.
My fabric came that I'll use in addition to the flannel I'll use for the flute bag that I'm making.  Got another long zipper incse I don't use the one I already have.  When I was out I also able to get a few iron appliques.  Got a steaming cup of coffee and a G cleft with a few little flowers surrounding it.  Back to the mail.....I got my bracelet that I loved from an artist on Etsy.   It's got a copper open heart with tourmaline stones and it's lovely!  I also got the DVD from a flute maker in Canada that I think will work out fine for me.  Now I'am waiting for some Stacy Charles ribbon yarn to make a hairpin lace tunic that Kristin Omdahl had designed.  I spoken with her through e-mails and she's a lovely person! Smiley  I ordered a tourmaline ring from another nice lady on Etsy that I think will go perfectly the bracelet.  I think I'm waiting for the flute stand and I'll be set!!
So today I'll make a vegan banana bread and pop that DVD in to start to learn how to [lay my Native American Flute!!!!  Can't wait!

Aw, honey, I'm so sorry.  *hugs*  But you know, my Sparky dog has been gone for, what?  --8 years now, and once in a while I still tear up over him.  It'll be something small or unrelated (at least I think it's unrelated) and suddenly I can feel myself welling.  On the other hand, I still laugh over the things he used to do... like the time he tried to filch a homemade popcorn ball and it got stuck in his mouth.  I was laughing so hard that I had trouble getting it away from him.   Grin  So even though our furry loved ones are gone from us physically, they never disappear completely.   Smiley

Today C will help me with doing my henna and indigo.  The greys are too many and showing too much!! Embarrassed  He  likes my grey/silver,but if the roots are showing and it's not all one length.............well,it's time to do something!!!
It's just such a long process;it not only leaves him drained,it tires me as well.  It's like having an extrxa 10 lbs. on your head for 4 hours!!! Roll Eyes  Atleast I'm gonna try to leave it on 4 hours.  Then the shower part!  It takes anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to get all the henna and indigo out!  Ahhhh, the price to trying to keep up appearances!! Grin Grin

Well, we started at 9:30 mixing the indigo and then that goes into the henna.  With all the prepping of the floor and me C still managed to get the mix on me and on him! Grin Roll Eyes
I kept this heavy mess on my head from10:30 until 1:40!!  It rinsed pretty well, not the usualy gritty poop!  Probably because I used a henna that was specifically for greying hair.  I still got it from Catherine @ Mehandi.com  I think I got out of the shower at close to 3!!! Shocked  I conditioned first, washed 2x and then conditioned again.
I really like the way my hair dryed too.  It's nice and curly and very soft.  For the most part I think C did a good job at covering the grey.  I do see a spot on the top side that isn't totally covered.  I have to check underneath.
I used 200 grams of henna and 300 grams of indigo.  So far my hair is a very dark brown.  It's not black, but that's ok.  I'll letthe henna and indigo oxides over 3 days and see what color settles in.
I'm super tired from the days extravaganza!  I can only imagine how C feels!
Off to bed after America's Got talent................

Hey, Curlgirl64!  I'm wondering: do you apply your henna/indigo starting with your head upside down or right side up?

Right side up.  I section it into 4 ponytails.  Then C will take alittle bit of hair from one of the back ponytails and start there.  It's a long process!  From when he starts until he finishes applying it, I guess it's anywhere from 35 to 55 minutes!! Shocked  Then that mess stays on my head for 3 to 4 hours!

Thanks for answering my question.  I apply (well, hubby does really) the cassia right side up, too.  I section my hair into 8 twists w/duckbill clips.  It takes him at least 30 mins to get it on my head, too.  I leave the cassia on for 2 hours, I think.  I'm over due for an application.  I might try some from Mehandi.com-I've been getting it from hennacaravan.com.

Your avatar looks great!  I like it!
I think you'll like the Mehandi.com site.  It's very informative and easy to get around.
I might try the duckclips right from the start.  I usually use scrunchies and then the clips.  Maybe 8 sections will work better then the four..................hmmmmmm.   Will try that when I'll do the roots in a couple of weeks.
