Does anyone know what this hair style is?
Jan 19th, 2010 at 1:20pm

I was browsing sewing patterns, and I saw this one (link below), but what really got me interested was her hairstyle!  Does anyone know if that is a specific style that has a name?  I want to find out how to do it!  I could always experiment in front of the mirror and try to figure it out, but I usually get frustrated and give up before I do (lol). I don't know a name for the style.  It looks to me to be 3 parts: two side rolls and one turned under pony.

I think the side could be easily achieved with combs, and possibly make a a pony, and don't pull the hair all the way through the second time you twist the hair tie.  Hide the ends in your hair.  Then cover the hair tie with a fancy barrett.

From my reading of Gone With the Wind (at least 25 times Smiley)and Margaret Mitchell's description of Scarlet trying to do this style on her own, the side rolls were rolled, sometimes over forms and pinned in place.  The back hair was rolled under, pinned in place and contained in a snood.
