Cradle Cap
Aug 8th, 2009 at 12:37pm

Hello ladies!  My wonderful little bundle has arrived, and I am wondering what to do about cradle cap?   I don't want to use any nut oils because of possible peanut allergies, but am not sure what to put on it.

TIA   Smiley

Congrats!!
I remember one of my aunt's using baby oil for cradle cap.  I'm sure other Mommies" here will give advice!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

When my son had cradle cap, we just kept washing his hair with the usual baby shampoo and used that soft brush that comes in baby sets to gently scrub his scalp.  He had tons of hair, so all we were doing was kind of loosening it up and couldn't really get much of it out, but I seem to remember it cleared up pretty quickly and wasn't a major problem.

Congrats!  I don't have any other advice than baby oil which worked just fine on all three of my boys.  Sadly, time flies fast so I've already forgot what the proceedure actually was. Huh

Thank you ladies!  Its cleared up on its own.  Every time we wash his hair his scalp gets really dry and flaky, and the other day it was so much worse I didn't think it would just go away.  We only wash his hair a couple times a week and use only water--the only things he gets dirty with are water soluble so it doesn't seem necessary to use anything else.  Breast milk seems to be the cure all for everything else, maybe next time I'll rub a little in after his wash and see if we can avoid it all together.   Roll Eyes
