Nature's Gate - regular or organic?
Feb 18th, 2009 at 7:34pm

Ok well last time I went to Whole Foods, I saw in the shampoo section that there were two types of Nature's Gate shampoos. The regular, normal one that I usually see, and then the new organic type.

For the regular one, here is the list of ingrediants for the Herbal Daily Cleansing Shampoo. Water, Sage, Chamomile, Kusambi Bark, Lavender, Yarrow, Rosemary, Wild Cherry Bark, Thyme, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Citric Acid, Methyl, Propylparaben, Chlorophyllin, Fragrance

So I guess they have sulfates. But the organic ones supposedly don't, and don't have any chemicals or anything.
Now, for the questions:

Which one have you tried and what results have you gotten?
Does the regular one seem to leave your damaged/tangled/dull/*any other negative effect* because of the sulfates?
Does the organic one lather? If you have tried either one or both, let us know your results!  Smiley

Some people are okay with sulfates. My hair is dry, so they don't work well for me. If your scalp is on the oily side I suppose sulfates would be okay.

So you use the organic kind? Which type in the organic line do you like the best?

Hi Fern Smiley  I tryed natures gate a few years ago and it did not work out for me.  It was too drying.   Mind you I loved there body lotions though Smiley

Hello Isabeau.  Smiley Yeah I'm tempted to try their lotions.  I tried the original Nature's Gate shampoo years ago though but I can't remember what it was like haha. I love Jason Natural shampoos though. But I was still curious to see what you folks think about Nature's gate. Tongue

Hi Fern!  I absolutely LOVE the Nature's Gate Herbal shampoo and conditioner.  I didn't know they even made an organic non-sulphate version:)  But I used the other one for a LONG time and had no problems at all.  Personally, I dont mind using sulphates, but I do try to avoid cones.  It looks like there are parabens in the natures gate stuff...does anyone know if wax would be bad for growing healthy hair...?
