I can't believe I've only seen this thread now.
Erh...20s-50s, mainly 50s, 50s hair on everyone else. It's fantastic what you can do with pin curls and a middy really is the ideal haircut for so many styles if you desire a cut you with lots of styling options, just leave my hair out of it.
Played with retro styles for a while when I still had layers. I want to buy a 50s book I think is called: 'How To Handle Long Hair'. I fear that unless I find my own way of modifying the styles in the book, they probably require a lot of hair torture too.
I've seen long, smooth updos on women in all the golden era decades and while they may not have been the trendiest hairstyles they were era correct and I wish I could make the other members more interested in these hairstyles but they tend to ignore my posts on them so.
It's hard to admire a shorter hairstyle on someone else and not give into the itch to go shorter at times, especially when my hair acts up. I just remind myself that there's no such thing as a lazy day with shorter hair, especially not with my hair texture and my hair has to be long enough to collapse on itself unless I want a punky style because my scalp doesn't really appreciate styling products of any kind. Never mind I can't afford the maintenance trims and all the extra styling stuff either.
So long hair is the way I go.
