Question

I have a question. I'm African-American/Carribean. My hair is the definition of wool D:
It's thick, and it does the puffball. I want to know, how can I get curls (like ringlets as someone previously mentioned)? I want my hair to lay down, but it's stubborn like a spoiled child. DX

Any advice?? Thankee~

Tight curls will puff out when you comb or brush the hair which separates the individual hairs from each other.  To prevent that you need to keep the hair grouped together to form the curls.  Using soemthing to help the curls hang toether is sometimes necessary.  Some people will use an oil like jojoba or olive oil on their hair right after washing.  Comb thru the hair with a wide toothed comb after applying the oil and let the hair air dry.  Another option is aloe vera gel.  This will hold the curls more than the oil.  There are other hair products out there as well that will help to define the curls.

I'm sure one of our curly-headed gals can add more suggestions.

BB is right about the jojoba oil and the aloe vera gel.  Experiment with one or the other or both.  I use both.  One very important thing about air drying your hair is after you put in anything and wide tooth comb your hair.......don't touch it until it dries!!!  The more you touch it the more it is likely to frizz.
