Hi. I am Asian, and I have black hair [If it matters. Does it?]. I have quite oily hair and I get dandruff if I get lazy and don't wash my hair. I have to wear my hair in a moderately high ponytail for school on a daily basis.
In May I got a very layered haircut [Which I love], it's kinda short in front so I have to clip my hair up and tie my hair in a lower and looser ponytail. [School rules, can't have hair in my face] But I noticed when I clip up my hair, finer hair that I can't clip up is all around my hairline. Is there something I can do to grow out? It's been that way for years. A bit late for help?
The hair tie I currently use for school is the fabric-covered elastic, which I think is quite hard on my hair. I'm about to switch to the scrunchie and the purple one for home and school.
I also need some suggestions on growing long hair. I drop a lot of hair [Is it normal?] and when it gets worrying I just cut it. I want to grow long hair [To about under the bust] but I am only allowed to have haircuts every two months, no more often. Is that fine? How much should I tell my hairdresser to cut every two months? Or should I leave it to him and tell him that I'm growing my hair long? I kinda have a phobia of him over-cutting and my hair's growth rate can't keep up with the amount he cuts.
I don't cut my hair often at all. For a quite a long while now, I cut my hair every 5-6 months until I read the 20 step guide to keeping long hair and realized it isn't very good for my hair. My haircut times vary a lot, I just get one when I think about it. I know it's unhealthy for my hair but it doesn't really affect my hair much. I used to swim a lot, yet my it still stays shiny and soft no matter how much sun or chlorine it's exposed to. I know, I know, what more could I ask for when I already have hair like that, right?
Anyway, I hope I get useful suggestions from you Rapunzels.
