I almost THREW something at the tv...
Oct 7th, 2008 at 3:08pm

I was flipping through the channels this morning and happened to stop on MTV where a girl with gorgeous long hair was saying, "Please, anything, just don't cut my hair." It was the make-over episode for the new Paris Hilton Series about finding her a new best friend.. and you'll never believe what happened next.. the girl CUT off her beautiful locks for a shoulder-length, highlighted hair-do, just so she could become friends with Paris... I ALMOST THREW SOMETHING AT THE TV!! ahh, the things people do for 15 minutes of fame.....  Huh

Grin True true, all very true. Nope, I'd never get a short haircut just be friends with/meet a celebrity, perhaps for money... but I would only consider it for big $$  Wink

I think it's one thing when Tyra does the model make-overs, because that's sort of the life those girls sign on for.
But I really thought this part of Paris' show was just cruel!

It does sound cruel and you can change someone's appearance drastically by changing the cut but not necessarily the length.  I may lack a normal ability to empatise but in the context of wanting to do whatever to be Paris' friend (something I don't understand in itself) I suppose something like this is something you have to be willing to accept.  No, I haven't watched the program so I accept that my judgement may not be fair.

Actually, the highlighting or any chemical process upsets me more than any amount of cutting would.

i agree, drear. some ladies have very nice hair and then they highlight it to the point that the hair seems like straw. why would someone do that? i love the variety of colors out there. that's why i think henna and other natural lighteners etc are the way to go.
