Fancy braids on doll
Aug 20th, 2008 at 2:24pm

I enjoy braiding, a lot, but it's difficult to do on my hair (and my friends are sick of me asking if I can braid theirs) So I've been using a waldorf doll.  Here are some photos of some braided up-dos I've been working on.
This first one is seven accent braids (three on one side of the head, 4 on the other) woven in a sort of seven strand braid over a bun made by coiling two diagonal french four strand braids.
Here is a photo of the four-strand part:
...
Here is a view of the braided braids:
...
The second is a crown braid with the seven braids left outside, then braided together on each side (one four-strand braid and one english braid), then coiled in a bun:
...
Then a side view:
...
I could never do any of this on my own hair, but it's fun to fool around with a doll!

Ack... I didn't realize the photos were that huge...
It's easier to do a lot of the stuff on a doll because you can turn them upside-down if you need to.  Can't really do that to a person. Grin
A friend of mine has 1bMiii hair that I love to braid because it is really smooth and doesn't tangle.  The only problem is that her hair is really, really thick-- thicker than mine.  I usually do four braids across the front and then one big one with the rest of her hair.  She's sick of me braiding it though... But I still ask  Grin.
