Posts: 307 Idaho Gender:	ugh Jul 2^nd, 2008 at 9:07pm So I have used a variety of products, most of them being salon sold. k-Pac used to work, but now I find it's to heavy for my hair=no biologe isn't heavy enough=no swarkopf (sp?)= no paul mitchell=no plus ton of others. Right now I am using Pantene.

I guess I jsut don't know what exactly I should be looking for when I use a shampoo and conditioner. But for now I am happy. I might see if I can find some of the products you mentioned that you used.

Pantene seems to work great for some, and not for others. The big "concern" about Pantene is its use of silicone type ingredients. Silicone can build up on the hair and actually prevent mosture from getting to the hair shaft. This can cause the hair to become stiff and brittle. Regular clarifying can help prevent this from happening. Vinegar rinses can also help prevent the buildup.

It all comes down to how your hair looks and feels with the product. If it works for you - great!

I have some new stuff from Mop Top. I'll see how that does.

Some are water soluable and therefore do not build up on the hair like the non-soluable -cones. If you can use the product for several weeks without the ends getting crunchy, then you are probably OK to use it. A regular vinegar rinse will also help a lot.

I'd never be able to keep them straight, and having curley hair I wanted something esp. for that. I did my first vinegar rinse yesterday! Followed by an oil treatment. My hair looks and feels great! How often should one do a vinegar rinse?

I'm kinda picky like that!!! I was thinking I'll try acv rinses 2x a week and see how it goes.

I currently use Garnier Fructis for fine hair, but if I don't shampoo every day my scalp drives me crazy. I am going to try the ACV diluted rinses, and hope it helps. I keep looking for diffrent hair products to help my hair. Hope they help. Shell

I can imagine Schwarzkopf/Gliss products may generally be too greasy on many people. The 1 min. deep conditioners are popular though. I may replace Pantene completely with Schwarzkopf (sp?) Gliss all together because my hair loves Gliss products. My hair is very thick, wiry, coarse. Gliss and Pantene keeps it from looking and feeling wiry. It takes forever to dry though. Roll Eyes

My hair really likes it, and my curls look better than they ever have before. I noticed when I swtiched from Pantene to Deva products that I in fact didn't have an oily scalp! I am not against cones, I can use them, I just prefer not to.
