Can someone give me a crash course in Henna? I know NOTHING.
I'm thinking about dying my hair a soft black.
Thanks!

Just so you donīt make the same misstake as many have. Indigo likes cold water and it starts working imediately. Put in your hair within 15 min for best effect. It doesnīt stain after 15 min approx.
Good luck!!!

I know this is older but...henna is wonderful. I actually have it sitting on my head right now. It can be kind of a production to mix, wait for dye release, apply and rinse out. My hair feels so silky afterwards and the color looks great. Who knows if I have any grays under there. My hair is naturally pretty dark brown, was almost black when I was born but had lightened considerably over the years. The henna gives me really red highlights that glow in the sun, you can usually see the dark red all the time though. I used to mix my henna with water and a little ACV, but lately I have been using green tea and it has worked the better. It hasn't dried my hair out and leaves no smell. It can be a pain to rinse out though.

Has anyone used clear Henna to help with tangling? Does it change the color at all? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Cassia is what I think you are referring to as clear henna. I've not used it myself, but I am considering it. I may just need to order some and give it a try!

Yes,BB is right. The henna you are referring to is called Cassia. It will give you shine but will not change the color of your hair.
