frizzy weather!
Jul 4th, 2007 at 10:27am

Aargh! It's hot and humid! My hair stands on end, it sticks to my face, it drives me nuts! I end up with it scraped back in a tight bun, and it STILL frizzes! It was curly once, and it's never forgotten.

It's so humid that it takes two days to dry if I don't use a hairdryer - it doesn't take that long in winter!

How does everybody else style and care for their hair in hot, humid weather?

Unfortunately I can't help.  My hair is straight as a stick so it doesn't frizz.  I can sleep on rollers all night and wake up with a cloud of curls that in two hours (even with no combing or brushing) will be a gentle bend at the ends.

I can offer my sympathy, though.  Sad  Your frustration leaps out from every letter of your post.  That I can relate too!

Hot and humid - yep, a hair nightmare.  I tend to keep my hair in a bun so that it does not hang on my neck.  To keep the frizzies under control, I use a bit of aloe vera gel on those wild and crazy hairs.  The gel holds well and a damp hand over the hair later will again show those frizzies who is boss.

I use a ouidad product called "Climate Control" when the humidity is high.  You can find it at www.ouidad.com

Sorry you're having such a hard time with frizzies.

Thanks for tips and sympathy Smiley.

Ouidad - apparently I can buy a BOOK about it in Japan, but not the actual products! Grin

Aloe is popular here, but I haven't seen the gel that everybody is talking about...will keep looking though.

Meanwhile, I thought of googling for "monsoon" and frizzy hair, and got some tips aimed at Indian women in hot, wet weather - seems like a leave-in conditioner is the way to go, and it does seem to help a bit.

I'm tempted to cut bangs, so I can just clip or gel the front, instead of having a hedgehog-halo of flyaway wisps round my face! Let me see, salon opens at 10, maybe I could camp on their doorstep...
