They are not real bone, but some sort of organic resin material. 

I was looking for real bone but found this.   Anyway... thought that y'all might like to look at this and make your own decision.

Combs made of horn work very well in my hair.  Heavenly Harvest has some very nice combs that I love.

I have two combs from Heavenly Harvest, Inc already.  It's just that someone mentioned bone combs.  I didn't think that bone combs were made anymore. So that's why the google search. 

I keep thinking that I should order another set of combs from Heavenly Harvest.  That way I can have a pair for my purse!
