Which is milder?

Just a silly question for the ingredient gurus out there.
I have noticed that many shampoos have a combination of Ammonium Laureth Sulfate & Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate or Sodium Laureth & Lauryl sulfates. I'm aware the the detergents ending in -eth are milder, but my real question is whether there is a significant difference between Ammonium and Sodium? Is the Ammonium Laureth/Lauryl combination milder than the Sodium Laureth/Lauryl or vice versa or are they about the same?  Huh  Quite confused. Thanx in advance.
