Figure 8 Bun With two hairsticks!
Apr 25th, 2007 at 7:31pm

Anyone else ever do a Figure * with two sticks? I tried it with one stick(a pencil actually) first, and it looked okay. ...
then I tried it with two sticks, and it looks, to me at least, pretty darn decent! Better once I fancy up my sticks, but for now this will work.  Sorry the picture is so blurry.

You're so lucky-I can hardly wait until I have enough length to do a figure 8 bun.  Yours looks great!!!  I didn't even notice your sticks weren't fancy.  Cool

Thanks, both of you. Cheesy I wasn't even sure whether I could even DO a figure 8! it's a little messy... I guess it will look better once the hair is longer though. And hey, the one with the pencil is hair and utility all in one! need to write a list? here!*pulls out pencil*

I was learning to crochet when I moved down here... had to leave everything behind. I'd sucessfully made... a small potholder.  Undecided it was a pretty pot holder though~! I wish I had some yarn to work with. *adds yarn to shopping list alongside nail polish*

How do you do a figure 8 bun?   Is it as simple as just twisting the hair into a figure 8 position?

To make a figure 8 bun, you must first be able to make a bun that has more than 2 complete loops.  The first 2 loops made should be stacked on top of each other and the remaining loops can be either tucked under the first or wrapped around the first loop.  After all the hair is wrapped, then take the top most loop and flip it up - this makes the top of the 8, the base loop is the bottom of the eight.  Secure with pins and/or sticks.

lol that's probably the easiest description for a figure 8 but I have ever seen, BB.  Grin

I just realized that I have enough length to do this, but am without a mirror for the time being. D'oh!

Thank you Angel Spun!  I'm never sure if I make any sense when I describe how to do hair styles.  Cheesy

Be sure to let us know how your attempts go!  (Pictures are always welcome  Wink )
