Water only washes (w/o)

Has anyone seen this?

AMERICAN STOPS WASHING HAIR!
http://www.thewvsr.com/nowash1.htm

I've heard of water only rinses but never have tried them.  I'll admit that a part of me is seeing $$$ at the thought of being able to go without shampoo and use only water.  (I like to use that Aubrey Organics.  SLS gives me dandruff.)

I was checking out the same topic on the Long Hair Community but the board seems to be down right now.  Just wondering if anyone here has tried this.  My only reservation on trying this is that I have an oily scalp.  (I don't wash everyday, but more like 2 times a week.)

I have heard of people doing this but its not for me. I have tried this before and didn't like the results. I guess people without dandruff it will work fine.

Thanks, BEM for that fun read.  I have pretty much stopped using shampoo-I now use it maybe 2 times a month.  I do use conditioner-with curly/wavy hair I cannot go without my conditioner.

It took quite a while (I don't know exactly how long I've been going now) for my scalp to stop itching, it has calmed down now and my waves have never looked better!!

I've done water only for periods of time (up to 2 weeks).  I think it works best on hair that is not overly dry or oily and the person does not participate in activities that would tend to get the hair dirty (working around smoke, cooking grease, etc.)

Galadriel did the water only for an extended period - maybe she will chime in with some comments for you. You could check out her journal as well, she has several comments regarding her hair routine in the past when she was doing just water.

The only times that I resort to water only is when the day has been absolutely harrowing and I don't get to take a shower until late at night. At that point, why bother? But I'll clarify the next morning if possible.

Also, if I've stayed overnight in a hotel somewhere with my parents. They don't do much to get ready in the morning, so I'll usually just jump in the shower, wash my face, rinse everything else and go.

Neither of these things happen often, thank goodness, but they have happened before.  Embarrassed

I thought about trying this but my hair loves shampoo! There is nothing better my hair loves than a good shampoo, it just looks stunning after, i was put of the idea when someone mentioned on another board that hair will never have that just shampooed look again.

Yes its cheep, and environmentally friendly i am sure but i find chemial free shampoos to work brilliantly and have no intention of changing. I may experiemnet but i honestly can not bear the thought oof not shopping for hair products. I loveee shopping  Roll Eyes

I also thought of something else, i was reading another journal and she was saying that she shampoos the wo then shampoos the wo etc, so she manages to go a week without shampoo just a rinse but does not have to put up with the bad stage of wo.

I think i may try this, i do love freshly washed hair so if it dosnt quite clean my hair i will give up. As i usually use handfuls of shampoo just to make sure i get that bouncey feeling of freshly washed hair.

After reading the comments and all I thought gee....maybe I ight try this?   I don't know I would like to toy with it thought.  In the summer I did alot of just rinsing with water everyday as it was so bloody hot!  Have to think about this further.... Roll Eyes
