Deep conditioning
Apr 2nd, 2006 at 1:28am

My hair is feeling more and more dry lately (as it gets longer, I think) and I've been thinking about trying something to moisturize it.  My wife came home with an avacado a while ago and it reminded me of a recipe I'd read on here somewhere.  She wanted to make guacamole with it, so I had to sneak it out of the kitchen with the mayonnaise.  She was upset that I'd stolen it at first, but ended up helping me wrap my hair before we went to bed; was sort of funny.

The results were nice; hair was pretty soft and more managable.  I feel sort of funny, but my hair likes it, so I'll be trying more recipes I think.

I also tried leaving a bit of conditioner in my hair after shampooing this morning, I've never done that before.  I used jojoba oil for the first time too; for the first half of the day my hair was nice, but got oily really fast. I guess I should try new things one at a time...

Experimenting is the best way to learn what your hair does and doesn't like...and it's kinda fun too!  Wink

Experimenting is the best way to find out what works.  Of course, adding too many variables can make it hard to know what is really happening!  Grin

I've found that some conditioners do not work well with the jojoba oil.  Either I can't use them at all together, or I need to wait a day before adding the oil.

Keep experimenting and let us know how it goes!
