Build-up?
Mar 26th, 2006 at 2:50pm

Has anyone ever seen tiny spots glued in your hair?  I recently noticed a bunch of specks in my hair, from my neck to my waist.  They look like head lice nits, but have not gotten any better or worse and the doctor says it is not lice.  I have tried head lice treatment, just in case, no joy.  I have tried Neutrogena shampoo and am now trying Aveeda scalp treatment shampoo and conditioner.  So far, no change, but it has only been a day.  The strange thing is that my scalp is perfectly clean!  Any advice would be apprecitated.  Thank you!

Hi, jboles1.  I've never had the issue you're having.  Have you considered consulting a beautician?

Good Luck!!!

Little white "dots" on your hair could be a form of split end.  They can occur anywhere on the length of the hair, not just on the ends.  With time the hair will break at that point.

I recommend "dusting" your hair.  Use a good sharp scissors and trim just above the white dot or split end.  This can be a tedious task, but in the long run your hair will be better for it.

I know I have a link to a picture around here somewhere  I'll have to see if I can find it.
