New Burt's Bees?
Mar 19th, 2006 at 7:40pm

I just went on Burt's Bees website and saw that they have a brand new shampoo and conditioner. It's called Super Shiny Grapefruit & Sugar Beet Shampoo and I was wondering if anyone had any experience? It does say that these products are 'brand spankin' new' so there's not much information at makeupalley, so I decided to try here!

I have not had much luck with Burt's Bees products, so I've never tried their hair stuff.
If you try it, let us know how you like it!

The ingredients look to be hair friendly and I bet it smells great.

I have tried the super shiny grapefruit and sugar beet shampoo and conditioner, and I must say, it works really well with my hair. My hair is very thick and curly/coarse, but it seems to make it really soft. Other shampoos that I would use would make my hair really dry and crunchy on the ends, but this type of shampoo and conditioner helped that alot. It was really soft and alot less crunchy. I also think alot of it has to do with the chemicals and silicones and how they work with my hair. My hair doesn't really like silicones. Anyway, I really liked it and kept calling my local health food store until they got refills, lol. Burt's bees just also came out with a new type for curly and dry hair, as well as color treated. I'll have to try them next when I use up the Super Shiny sets i have now, I stocked up on them. I give it a 9 out of 10. I also hope they never stop making it, because my hair wouldn't be very happy, lol.

I recently tried the Burt's Bees Grapefruit and Sugar Beet conditioner, but unfortunately I found it drying for my hair (mine is fine/wavy).  It felt great going on (nice and emollient, smelled great) but after about a month I felt it was drying out my hair.  I love a lot of the Burt's Bees products, so I was disappointed in this one.  YMMV!

I cannot speak to the G ans SB conditioner...but I can speak to the avocado conditioner.  I bought some when I went to the Dominican Republic last year.  What a God send.  I got off the plane to 30 degrees celsius after getting on the plane here in Cnd at minus 30 degrees celcius...talk about a recipe for frizzy hair!!!  Now, the first day I got there, the hotel had no water (yup 5 star resort and no water!!!) but the next day (having gone for a swim the day before to get the sweat off me) but the next day I used this conditioner...and presto...everything was fine while my female friend (no not that kind of friend...boy hubby hated me going off without him) had frizzies until she tried the conditioner herself.  Now, I have not used it lately as it is not cheap and I now make my own...but if you are going somewhere hot and humid...I recommend it.

I have to try these now!!
I have not seen the curly one, but I use the raspberry and brazil nut conditioner (always tempted to get the shampoo, but i have the grapefruit shiny shampoo.. hwich I think is their version of a clarifying shampoo so it tends to dry my hair out)
