Hey Ladies & Lads!  I'm turning to you again for some advice, you are all always so helpful  Cheesy !

As some of you may know if you read my journal, I've got a family member battling with cancer right now.  He's my cousin, he's only 19, and he's out of money to pay his hospital bills.  Some of his friends have gotten together to organize a benefit dance for him with a couple of live bands, which is really great of them, but I know it won't raise nearly enough to put a dent in his hospital debt.  I'm racking my brain trying to think of what I can do to help, too.  Something that can really help raise a lot of money to help, but I don't know what.

Have any of you ever had to organize a fundraiser or benefit?  Any ideas from anyone?  I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have on this, thanks!

Maggie  Cheesy

Maggie, is there a fund set up for your cousin, like at a bank or anything?  Like if we just want to make a contribution, where would we send it?

Back in 2003, when I had ovarian cancer, I was lucky enough to have very good medical coverage through my job.  And thank goodness, too...when one injection to help with anemia costs $4,000 (and I needed three of them)...is that insane or what?!  So yes, please let me know where I can make a contribution.  It may not be much but I'd like to help.

Oh Trisha, I am so taken back by your generosity, honestly.  Kiss  I don't think an account has been set up for him yet, I really don't know  ???.  I imagine that something had to be set up (account-wise) for the dance benefit, but I don't have any of the details, I only found out about it yesterday evening.  This is all happening so fast, and it's all new to me.

Thank you so much again for your offer...I'm tearing up now!  I'll check further into this & let you know.
