TRESemme`

I have used Moisture Rich TRESEMME`and deep cleaning TRESemme` shampoo and conditioner for quite a long time. I love the smell. Is this good to use? I have been told that it doesn't do good things for your hair. I switch between that and VO5, which I have also been told is not good. What is a girl to do?

Thanks for the boarhair brush idea!! I love it!

Shampoo:
Water, Ammonium Laureth Sulfate, Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polyquaternium-7, Ammonium Chloride, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Dimethicone Bisamino Hydroxypropyl Copolyol, Gelatin/Keratin Amino Acids/Lysine Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (Hydratein), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Algae Extract, Soluble Collagen, Chondrus Crispus Extract (Carrageenan), Ascorbic Acid, Niacinamide, Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Hydrolyzed Wheat Starch, Quaternium-80, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride, PEG-18 Glyceryl Oleate/Cocoate, Citric Acid, Glycol Distearate, Laureth 7, Sodium Cocoamphoacetate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Tetrasodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Xylene Sulfonate, Fragrance

The shampoo has fairly harsh cleansing agents.

Conditioner:
Water (aqua), Quaternium-18, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Cocodimonium Hydroxypropyl Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Fruit Extract (Sweet Almond), Corylus Avellana Leaf Extract (Hazel), Helianthus Annuus Extract (Sunflower), Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Epilobium Angustifolium Extract, Foeniculum Vulgare Fruit Extract (Fennel), Hydroxyethylcellulose, Stearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Quaternium 80, Steareth 21, Dimethicone, Disodium Peg-12 Dimethicone Sulfosuccinate, Oleamine Oxide, Glycerin, Citric Acid, PVP, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Fragrance (parfum)

The conditioner has dimethicone which could build up on the hair.

I don't have any personal experience with these products, maybe someone else has.  The most important factor is how does your hair feel when using these products?

momof6 Hmmm... I tryed these a while ago and I found them to really not be for my hair.  I guess the price and size of bottle drew me in at frist, but my hair was not happy and felt dry and under condtioned.

I really like the conditioner. My hair feels nice on days when I only condition my hair but the shampoo it another story. I bought them once because the price was right as opposed to what I used (Paul Mitchell) and I found that it got rid of the psoriosis (how ever you spell that word) in my hair and started washing with it. I had the stuff all over and the TRESemme made it go away and it hasn't come back. So now I am afraid if I stop using it I will get it back. BUT my mom is sending me some Paul Mitchell. Thank heaven for mothers! Where do I find info on shampoos and such that won't beat my hair to death?

by the way using a baking soda rinse removes the buildup from shampoo, conditioners and other hair care pordusts.

I've never used any Tresemme (oh la la) products.  Did you make any other changes to your lifestyle or routine that could have contributed to the clearing up of your scalp's condition?  I'd bet a change in diet or stress would have made a difference.

Good Luck!

Ugh, ugh, ugh.

I remember trying to switch to Tresemmé products not too long ago with frightening results!

I do like the smell...it rather reminds me of old fashioned roses. But that doesn't make up for the ill effects on my hair, unfortunately.

I had the Moisture Rich S&C, the leave-in spray conditioner/detangler and the treatment conditioner. Even with all of these products combined, my hair felt quite dried out. Like it just wasn't getting the nourishment that it needed. And while washing, the shampoo made my hair feel "flat." Like there wasn't much of it (granted, there isn't, but I like shampoos to have more of a rich, creamy lather that my hair seems to "float" in. I dunno).

Eventually, I resumed my usual Pantene regimen, using the Tressemmé conditioner as a 2nd conditioner, and retiring the shampoo to "cleaning product" status.

FYI: reject shampoos make excellent cleaners for scrubbing porcelain (like sinks and bathtubs) and tile. Especially the cheap ones, since their ammonia content is usually so high.

Whoa, ammonium laureth and lauryl sulfate! Shocked Those ingredients are pretty harsh. Acouple of months ago  I used some diluted Aveda shampoo that had an ammonium sulfate and didn't have to wash my hair for 5 days afterward.

I use Tresemme.  It works for me.  The conditioner is especially good.  There are different varieties and right now I'm using a new one that's made especially for LONG HAIR.  So they say!  But it's great.

I also like that you get a huge bottle for a good price. Wink
