Tried my first acv rinse

Well, today I decided to give this a try. I picked up some Apple Cider Vinegar and when I took my shower today I shampooed, then Conditioned, and then used the acv(1 part applecider vinegar, 2-3 parts water and then rinsed my hair with water. For some reason it made my face a bit red for a while afterwords, and when I did my final rinse with water my legs started to sting(I guess shaving before doing an acv is a no no?). I let it dry for a bit then put it in a lose braid and went shopping(got a new hairstick) Grin

. By the time I got home it was completely dry, so i took the braid out and my hair feels so incredibly soft right now, but that's all the difference I've noticed so far.

I think it might be less painful if you ACV before shaving. I guess I'm like you, I usually don't notice a difference with an ACV rinse besides softer hair. But softer hair is always a plus in my book.

And then - either before or after the rinse or deep conditioning - I take the shower. I have very sensitive skin and this way I can ensure that only my hair gets the treatment, instead of the entire me

I'll have to try that next time. Using the sink would probably help keep it off my skin. Any little thing that helps is worth a try. Grin

Ouchie! I wouldn't be surprised if it stung. But I don't know myself. cuz.. well... I don't shave my legs. I admit it!

I wonder if lessening the ACV would help it to not sting? I use 1 tbsp ACV to 2 cups water and it works pretty well on my hair. But I also know people that use 50/50, so it's kind of something you'd have to experiment with.

My frist time I got it right in my eyes! Roll Eyes

But it really does make the hair feel good! Hubby has tryed it too. He just pours it in his hands and rubs it on his head! Roll Eyes

I just tried my first ACV rinse over the weekend, I used a pretty weak solution because I was not sure what to expect, and I was concerned about smell, too. I used an empty Suave shampoo bottle and filled the bottom with about and inch of the ACV, and the rest with warm water. My hair felt cleaner, I could feel that some residue had been removed, and softer too. I will try it again this weekend and I think I will keep the same dilution.

Oh, and by the way, I did the rinse before shaving! Wink

This is what i started doing, cuz i wear contacts(and i can't go in the shower with out them, it would be a disaster Lips Sealed

) if you tilt your head back, and let your hair hang a way from your back and then pour it , about 2 inches away from your forehead it won't get in your face, and not as much on your body.

Though I'd finally get a picture of my hair and show off my new hairstick while at it. Yea, I'll be trying it differently and mixing some things around to see what I like best, and probably find an extra bottle to use for it before someone wonders where our spare measuring cup went to.

If you use the same shapoo all the time it can build up in your hair, or if you use styling products, even natural ones. To remove the build up, add a teaspoon of baking soda to your shampoo and then rinse with acv or regular vinigar (thats what I use). The reaction of the 2 will remove all the residue from your hair. Than condition like you normally would. (if you mix 1/4 cup in a mop bucket with hot water before mopping, it will also remove hairspray off the floor)
