My Favorite Leave-In Recipe

I am posting the recipe for my favorite natural leave in treatment.  It is my recipe...feel free to use and post results.

You will need 1 spray mister bottle.  All amounts are adjustable, and you can also experiment with different oils and ingredients to suit your individual needs.

8-10 oz of distilled water
2 tsps pure aloe vera gel
15-20 drops Jojoba oil
15-20 drops of African Shae Oil
10-15 drops of Coconut oil
5-10 drops of Lavendar EO
5-10 drops of Vanilla EO

Shake well and mist hair as needed.  Frequently on days that I shampoo (I shampoo at night) I will mist hair well in the morning, and bun for the day.  Shampoo out at night.  This can be used as a light leave in, and is perfect for those that need light oiling on thier hair.  Especially good for fine hair.

Enjoy! Smiley

African Shae Oil - I've never heard of it.  What is special about it?

This looks like a great conditioner!

I was just going to ask the same thing.  Smiley  Where do you get it?  Is it the same as Shea lotion?

African Shae oil

African Shae Oil...comes from the Shae nut which comes from the Karite tree in west africa.  It is the same nut that they get Shae Butter from...but this is the pure oil.  Think of Shae butter as an oil...it is very rich and moisturising.  Most health food stores sell it.  I found it at a Jimbo's store. The particular brand that I buy it "Inesscents" arromatic botanicals.

Here is the info off the bottle:

Front:

Inesscents (tm)
arromatic botanicals
African Shae Oil
with
Sudanese Coconut
and Vanilla

Back:

The Essence of balanceŠ
Iessence African Shae oil is cold pressed from the nut of teh Karite tree native to West Africa. It is rich in unsaponifiables, which protect your skin against sun, wind and the signs of aging.  Safe for all skin types, shae oil deeply moisturizes dry skin and leaves a luxurious, elegant feel.  100% natuaral.  Ingredients:  Pure shae oil, coconut attar, and essential oil of vanilla.

Well that is all the info I have...but I love this stuff!!  Hope this helps.

Mmm that sounds good!  I'll have to see if my health food store carries it.
