Sakina, actually it is u with "umlaut", the two dots over the u, but because this doesn't exist in english keyboards, you replace the two-dots with the e. And the two ss in the end are actually a letter that looks like the greek "b" letter, but that is widely replaced by the two ss's in the language.
Well, not that you were anxious  to know all this, but languages are my soft point, lol  Lips Sealed Lips Sealed Roll Eyes

Thanks for the language lesson, GL - I've wondered why I sometimes see the "same" word spelled/typed differently.  Cheesy

Thanks,  G_L!  I'd forgotten about the alphabetical differences.  I love languages, too.  This year I'm learning Indonesian.  Maybe next year I'll learn Greek!  How many languages do you know?

Greek_lady: You apparently are quite the linguist!  Wink That explains why sometimes when I see German written, I can't decipher anything, and yet, at other times, I can sort of get a "gist". I, too, wish to know what other tongues you might know.

Moonchild: Have a wonderful time and yes, you must report on all the hair related purchases.

*giggles*  Danke, Greek Lady!  I was thinking of the umlaut myself when I saw the topic header...  I used to know the computer ALT language that could make an umlaut but now I can't remember what it was.. hrm... *will have to take more German classes*  Hehehehe.. any excuse! Any excuse...

I looooove language.  German included  Grin

As for Moonchild.... AIR FORCE BASES!  Yip!  I live in the same city as one... three words, girls.

Whoohoo for military base shopping and no taxes!  I miss the days that I had my own ID card (my dad was in the Navy.)  I can still go in, but someone has to buy my stuff for me.

do you all mean this: ü?
I don't know if it will work in all your computers, but mine and probably most of the American computers have a thing called "Character Map" and you can find most characters on there and it tells you what key stroke to put in to make the character. For this one it was ALT and 0252. Hold Alt down while putting in the # and presto, a new thing appears!
