Quote:That's a great one to start with, MillieBelle. I mix a packet of the Earth Brown with a packet of the Sunset Glo and two translucent packets for my mix. For me, it's just easier to buy from Sally's because we have several stores here in town and I don't have to pay shipping fees as I would if I bought from the internet.
And mixing the henna is so easy....plus I really like this brand.
A note: If you do decide to Henna, if you mix the powder up with boiling water the night before you plan to henna, you will get a more vibrant result in less time since the Henna has had time to "set up"
But you can also mix the henna just before you put it on as well. I like to do it this way because then the henna is a bit more forgiving. If it drips on your skin, it's a lot less likely to stain than if the henna has been pre-mixed. And I'm a little clumsy still with henna, so any help is great.
AND.... I mix my henna up with tea. I make a big kettle of boiling water, and steep it over some regular dark tea, then pour that over the henna powder. I mix that up really well, then go and wash my hair very well with shampoo, and comb it out. By the time all that's done, the henna has cooled enough that I usually add a couple of eggs to the mix. It helps the henna to stick to your hair better, plus the protein makes my hair shiney and soft.... just remember that if you add eggs don't forget to rinse with cold water or you'll have a head full of egg scrambles...
