Can you can-can

Well this is a first! Instead of finding the sticks to match an outfit, I saw these Moulin Rouge hair sticks and was inspired to do a can-can dancer bun. Then, I realized the sticks also matched a necklace and gloves (I made the gloves years ago.) So all's good!

So this style, even though it looks like a lot going on, is really simple. It's a bun at the top of my head, and six "updated" pin curls around my face, which are held by mini jaw clamps (mine are Munchkins made by Scunci.)

I call them modern or updated pin curls because you're not suppose to let them dangle. But my objective was to use them as part of the hair style, and not to curl my hair. Though afterwards I did have some really nice ringlets!

Thanks! The variation is because I need to get my roots done. Badly. Wink

Actually, "embelished" would be a better word. They were plain long gloves to start with. I cut off the fingers (so 4 fingers go out one big hole, but thumb still has it's own hole.) Then sewed the gold and black embroidered trim on both ends, as well as the beaded trim on the top.

AtlantisAllure - I'm using mini (or micro?) jaw clips. They're the shiny things at the top of the curl. They're less than a centimeter wide. Hahah I didn't go anywhere. I set out to take stick pics, then realized the necklace and gloves matched. Then I couldn't wear the gloves without lipstick! But the rest is just a tank top and pajama pants. This is probably what I'll look like at the next company Christmas party.

Or, I can be a can-can dancer for Halloween too. Hmmmm
