"Real" frozen yoghurt!
Jul 7th, 2005 at 8:53pm

This is something I learned in Germany; I thought it was such a cool idea and seemed like something you all would enjoy, so I decided to share it...

For a cheap cold treat, take a single-serve yoghurt and stick a popsicle stick in through the foil cover (if it's got a plastic lid as well, take that off first). Stick it in the freezer for a few hours so it can get hard (I waited about 5 hrs), then pull it out of the container for a frozen yoghurt popsicle! You'll probaby have to run the container under hot water to get it to loosen up, and the smaller yoghurts are probably better; we've only got big ones in the house right now, and it's a bit top-heavy and hard to eat all at once. It's a really fun treat; cheaper (and probably healthier) and much more fun than going out for ice cream or frozen yoghurt!  Smiley

we used to just stick the yoghurt in the freezer and then eat it with a spoon once frozen.  This is a great idea too!

Mmm that sounds good.  And healthy too!  A lot better than the Mc Donald's hot fudge sundaes I've been eating way too much of as of late...

Love the idea. I must try this out sometime. It'd probably be a nice breakfast snack when it's hot out.

Fun idea!
Do you think that would work for other things like applesause or jello?
I'm not a big fan of yogurt.

Definitely applesauce! Or applesauce works nicely if you don't let it completely freeze. You can freeze it partially in a ziploc, squish the ziploc, and eat it like a thick slush.

Ohhh, sounds good. Didn't think of slush. Heathly and yummy to boot. We'll beat the fast-food world yet.  Wink

Since we are on the topic of yogurt and other frozen goodies, everyone should try gelato! Smiley  It has the consistency of ice cream, but it has less fat and sugar in it.

Those frozen snicker bars sound really good as well!

When biking all day, a frozen Snicker bar is a great energy bar!  For my most favorite frozen treat, I love Italian Ice (being lactose intolerant, yogert and ice cream are not on my favorite list).

Don't forget frozen peas and corn. My favorite snack as a kid.

Why is it everything tastes better frozen?

That apple-slush (hah! New phrase!) sounds yummy too.
