Hmm might need to fix color...
Jul 2nd, 2005 at 7:17pm

I took this one last night.  I knew there was a color difference (because my hair dresser had lost the index card with my info on it) but I didn't know it showed up this bad.  I wonder if it's fixable without having to go completely dark all over...

Oh but it is beautiful hair!  It looks more like an area that the sun is hitting in the picture ...g

I think it is a beautiful color!  If you're worried about the color difference, wait a while!  The colors will fade and blend a bit.

I think your hair looks great!  I'd wait a while before changing it to see if it grows on you.

Thankee!  I like the darker areas - it's the lighter area, slightly above the center, that bugs me.

What had happened is that I got the whole thing lightened when it was shoulder length, and went in periodically to get my roots done.  One time my hairdresser lost the index card that she used to track my hair color, and used something different.   Everything from my roots to about ear level is the new color.

I wonder if she'd be able to make the middle darker.  I'll call for an appt next week.  Has anyone had to get a "fix" similar to this?

I guess if she can't, it doesn't matter because that part will eventually be snipped off.  Eventually!  Smiley

I haven't tried to fix my hair like that, but I think the color is very nice!  It looks like you take good care of your hair! Cheesy

Your hair looks lovely.
I don't do the color thing, but if you really want to "fix it" maybe having some lowlights put in to match your middle would blend it all in better for you. ???

I have a lighter colored section that looks a lot like yours. I periodically paint over it with a brown demipermanent color. It has tended to fade less and less with time.

Waiting for those horizontal highlights to come in style...

Your hair is gorgeous! It's so shiny and thick! My favorite color is that chocolate brown that is on your ends. Is that natural, or dyed?

Totally in awe of your stunning locks!  Grin

I had a hair dresser 'fix' my color since I had bleached it, and had sun highlights and was tired of the very obvious line that was slowly growing out past my shoulders.  The color on the lower half has faded quite a bit, but it is still better than before, and I had her match the color to my natural color, so I can't tell that the top is growing out at all.

My hair breaks easily anyway, and I was so depressed with all the splits after dyeing it, that I'm resigned to just letting it grow out at its own pace now.  I'm working to lead the trend of horizontal highlights.   Grin

Thanks for the tips, and for sharing (at least I know there is hope for my color.  Haha)  I will mention all of these "fixes" to my hair dresser, and see what she thinks will work.

AtlantisAllure - I have no clue what color it is either!  Cheesy  But it changes in different light.  Sometimes it can look like caramel, and in the above pic I think it looks like cherry stained wood.  It's what my hair would be if it were a natural 4 levels lighter.  It's done with a process called hi-lifts and is a one step process instead of 2 like most other colors.

Leia - the brown parts are colored also.  My natural shade is black (very very dark brown in the sun).  Actually it looks a lot like your hair color - I bet hi-lifts would get yours to be a chocolate brown.  I'll ask my hair dresser what brand she uses - I think it's Redken, but I'm not 100% sure.

Here is my natural color:
...

Thanks all again for the compliments!

Very pretty har. While the overall color effect may "bug" you, I find it really interesting and I'm rather partial to the lighter section.

My lighter section thanks you!  That's interesting feedback.  Maybe I am anti-spot because it wasn't meant to be there in the overall design.  But what is that - it's merely a thought.  What if I changed my thought to be "the spot adds character".  I suddenly love the spot because it is unique and only I have one exactly like it.
