Helping Others...
Jul 2nd, 2005 at 6:02am

Because I am an utter spaz and push my new found hair knowledge on everyone who will listen...A conversation with a male friend of mine who THINKS he is balding(I haven't noticed), I brought up that I thought there were natural ways to deal with that...I'm not sure and I told him so, but does anyone know of anything he can do? I said scalp massage may help. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

I am just editing to write, I know about male pattern baldness and that could be his issue...But he tries other means of stoping the process or atleast slowing it, so I thought maybe he could try something natural since the others arent really doing much.  Undecided

Ho Boy - big topic with lots and lots of possible things to try.

But since you asked about natural methods, check up the horn comb scritching http://www.longlocks.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=longhaircare;action=display...

Saw Palmetto is a good product to take for men for both prostrate and hairloss - DHT inhibitor ... I'll try to think of some other things ...g

Here's a link to a recipe from another long hair community.  I haven't tried it but I guess it works in some cases.

Ahhhh!  And the combination of herbs and massage, I think, is particularly promising.

Anything DHT inhibiting can be effective but the options are limited for guys - of course, they can use stuff like propecia or finesteride.  Side effects though.

Personal opinion, stuff like minoxidil is better suited for short hair or people who wash daily, it rarely give good quality long hair but scalp coverage can be very helpful too, even if it's fuzz...g
