Howdy from Georgia
Jun 23rd, 2005 at 1:08am

Howdy folks! I cant say that I have ever really faught woth my hair or even considered it as something that I wanted to actually grow long again untill this year.

I'd kept it croped off just under my ears for years because of its texture and its willingness to do nothing else for years.

I found that what others would call neglect just seemed to make it grow faster and seem less fried and from what i see on the site many people have had the same experience.. the less washing and the less combing the better.

I usually just comb trough mine once a day.. i like the natural oils in my hair as that makes it smothest but i also use olive oil with a touch of patchouli.

My hair was knee length when i was 9 and i begged to have it cut at that time and finally my mother gave in after a Dr told her that it could cause me brain dammage. i think he was just very sympathetic and understood the pain i was going through with the nightly wash and yank routine i'd told him about..it certainly left me emotionally scared. I've never heard anyone else say that, anyway.

My mother had also used the long braid down my back as a handel and i was given the impression that it was the only thing pretty about me... since i have a limp and so on.

Well this is  me ....in my natural habitat...  ... yes, i'm 'native' and i'm guessing my hair type would be closest to aisian? I'm not sure.

and I've decided to take another journy to see just how long my   hair will actually grow. In this picture I have been growing for about 3 years since having a 'boy cut' when I left my ex.

I'm really looking forward to getting some longer length hair sticks myself and excited about actually seeing what I can create with them.. my hair is very think and in this heat and humidity... whoa!

Welcome, Rosa!!!  I'm assuming you are from Georgia as in the deep South, USA? (Not the country Georgia!)

Well, greetings from a fellow native Southerner.  Your thick hair sounds very nice...mine is very fine, and all my life I've wanted it to be thick.  But I'm very grateful for what I have!!!   Smiley Smiley Smiley
I probably wouldn't look right with it so thick, anyway!  OR I'd be insufferably vain!

Thanx for the warm response!

Yes, I'm from the deep south -- usa not the former soviet state.

Here is my photoblog.. i know some of the pictures are just hilarious.. my husband is a photographer and he likes to catch those weird moments. lol Like me working with my balance ball on my physical therepy.

I think it tends to show the personality...
