Split end trimmer?
Jun 20th, 2005 at 3:12am

Hi there!  I was just wandering through a store when I came upon some gadget that claimed it made trimming split ends easier... wish I could remember the name.  It was some kind of electric trimmer that looked like it could really only help the ends of a large section of hair, as that was what was pictured on the box... Anyways, I didn't really check it out because I'm guessing it was just some crazy thingamabob that doesn't really work.  But, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen or tried something like it.

General reports of this device are that it is not worth purchasing.  Some of the issues with this are:

1.  It trims the ends of the hair, regardless of whether it needs to be trimmed or not.

2.  When it trims the hair, the cut is not perpendicular to the hair, which then encourages split ends.

3.  Hair can get tangled on the device.

It also trims only the very ends of the hair, so if you have splits higher up they'll be left behind.

Frankly, I wouldn't let that thing anywhere near my hair.  Tongue
