Congrats!!!  Have you thought about a Gibson Tuck?  If you have or can borrow the book "Hair: A Book of Braiding and Styles" by Anne Ackers Johnson (it's a Klutz book)  I bet you can find some wonderful ideas in there!!  There are some lovely romantic 'dos in this book.  And it's written for the style-challenged (like me).
