Hey everyone, I am new and I joined this site to learn more about hair care and to keep me motivated. I have been trying to grow my hair for a few years but I always mess up by bleaching it and changing the color. I finally had my hair about six or seven inches down my back but bleached it myself and ended up with so much damage that I had to cut it all off! I am now starting over and trying to grow out the natural color and get rid of the color treated part.

*My hair is thick and strait
*color is light brown
*it is just past my shoulder
*it is still damaged and I am
working to get it back into good condition.

Welcome!  With all the good info here your hair will be healthy in no time.  Well, we'd all like it to be "in no time" but the truth is patience, patience, patience!

Good Luck!

Welcome puertoriquena!  The one nice thing about hair is that it will grow in healthy, even when we "mess up" with bad hair choices.  So, with good care now a lot of your damaged hair can be much better, and the new growth will be even better!  Sounds like you have and will have beautiful hair - thick, straight, light brown Grin

I'm very late, but Welcome!

Don't worry, many of us have had "false" starts when growing out.  Myself, in my first year from buzzed to currently 3.5" above waist I messed up the entire first year by doing everything wrong in frustration.  Boards can be very helpful to keep you on track ...g
