BAD HAIR ACCIDENT! OH NO!!
Mar 29th, 2005 at 7:33pm

I have shoulder-length dark-blonde hair, and it's pretty, but a few days ago, I got gum stuck in it. Yup, classic. It got stuck right in the roots, in the middle of the part all the way in the front (top of my forehead). It had to be cut out, and now I have a bit less than an inch where the hair has to grow all the way back in. What do I do to hide it/help it until it grows in??? I will post of pic of it, if someone will tell me how to post pics!!    Cry

Oh my!  Gum in the hair is NOT a good thing.  Sorry you had to cut it out.  I've always been lucky to be able to use oil, ice and/or peanut butter to get gum out of my hair.

To cover the shorter hair, you might need to change your part.  Combing the longer hair over the shorter hair will disguise the short hair.

As for posting pictures - there are instructions under the Weekly Tips.

gum....good grief!  Shocked  Besides combing the long hair over, you could decide to be more "avant garde" and spike the shorties up as part of your hairstyle.  Depends on whether you like to make dramatic style statements.

Hopefully you have a great sense of humor -- that will carry you through the growing out phase well.

OMG! I feel so sorry for you. Sad My niece cut her own hair about a year ago when she was four. It looked terrible! My sister ( my niece's mother) put hats, bandanas and headbands on her until her hair grew back. Now, her hair looks as good as new, and no one knew what had happend unless my sister told them. If I were you, I would try a side part. Maybe take some gel and smooth down the short hair, before brushing the other hair over it. That is something that you can do all the time, if you wear your hair up or down. Hope this helps and I hope after your hair grows back, you'll stay away from gum. Wink
