spoken of bad days
Feb 11th, 2005 at 5:40pm

it started yesterday, received my new lily hairsticks, the moron of the post dropped the packet right in front of me on the floor. one of them has it's tip broken off (which i will glue back with some super glue for porcelain). but one of the flowers is also a little bit damaged but i think it won't show too much.  (
and this morning they found my grand father dead. i saw it coming though (he had the beginning of a lung infection and he had several other health problems too).

argh, life just sucks sometimes.  Cry

Styg, I'm really sorry about your hairstix and your Grandpa.
I totally agree...life can really suck.  Sometimes it seems like its just one fiasco after another!!  For better or worse (I don't know myself) life keeps on going.  I know this is no comfort other than being true.
I hope you have all the emotional support you need during this tough time.
I'll keep you in my prayers.
Namaste,
Sakina

My sympathies, Styg.  (((HUG))).  Life is tough sometimes.  My husband and I have both lost our grandmothers in the last 4 months.  Take care.

aw ... thankies to all of you sweeties; well at least my grand pa is back with his beloved (ok, that sounds scary for an atheist and no after-life believer, always making exceptions for the people i loved) ... ah dunno, i just saw it coming when my dad mailed me he was in the hospital (i live in another country - france namely, i am originally belgian & right now i hope i'll find some ticks to go home cuze it's the holidays and trains are very booked).  last time i saw hime was 24th december, and i already thought it would be the last time probably.

as for the stick, i first managed to glue the tip to my finger but now it is where it should be, i was hoping for a less visible job (it fitted perfectly but even a drop of glue was too much and it sticks within a second. )

I'm so sorry about your grandfather.  My thoughts will be with you Styg.  I think sometimes it is harder to cope with when you are expecting their death.  When older family members have passed away in their sleep I could always accept that they chose to leave at that time.  When they have been sick and suffering it is harder on me to understand.

Styg, darling, you and your grandpa are in my prayers.  In the meantime I hope a (((((HUG)))))) will keep you afloat.  Just know you have a society of long-haired sisters who are looking after you.

thanks again all of you. Kiss
somehow, even if he wouldn't have been ill or so he died according to statistics ... widowers die usually soon after their partner (2.5 years in  his case) and it is what i expected in his case too ... he was always a distant person but after she died you could just read the trauma on his face. widows seem to survive way longer (my grand mother who's still alive lost her husband 8 years ago and she doesn't seem to die any time soon (she's 82 and still bikes now and then).
he wasn't really terminally ill either, he was supposed to go home the next day but died during the night in the hospital.

Just recently there have been published studies that there really is such a thing as "a broken heart".  They have found physical evidence that the heart suffers damage after the loss of a loved one.  This damage can eventually be fatal, especially to older people.

Take comfort in your happier memories of your grandparents - it is how they would want it.
