Samson is a character from the Christian Bible, from the book of Judges. He was the strongest man alive, but his only weakness was his hair: his strength was dependent on his hair length. His enemies the Philistines sent a woman named Delilah to seduce him and talk the weakness out, and I believe she reported back to his enemies, had him fall asleep on her, and a man was called to cut his hair off. In any case, she received several dozen pieces of silver for her efforts.

Samson was then imprisoned, de-eyed, and then taken out of his cell during a holiday for the masses to mock him. By then, his hair had grown back some. He said a prayer to Yahweh, for the strength to beat the Philistines, and pushed against the pillars so that the entire temple crushed down on the people.
