Have anyone tried the new straightener by Conair that has glass plates? I read an article stating that they are less damaging than ceramic or regular plates. Any truth to it? I haven't tried it...but I've seen them in the shops. A friend of mine regularly straightens her hair and since she's a brunette, you can see every single split hair on her head. The straightener really brings those out for some reason.

She insisted on straightening my hair once with her top of the line ceramic one...and I let her. Although the results were fanstastic, I was freakin out the whole time because those things get so flippin' HOT! Steam is rising from your head and your hair is roasting to touch. Can't be good.

I decided in the end to avoid straighteners, because ever though it temporarily made my hair look good, my hair tangled so much more easily whilst straight and I don't wanna take any chances with the damage!
