Oil Instead of Conditioner
Dec 16th, 2004 at 10:23pm

I'll apologize in advance if this is a repeat topic.  I did a search and found only one post.

Has anyone tried shampooing and oiling only and skipping the conditioner altogether?

Lately I've been shampooing and not conditioning or oiling but my shampoo has jojoba in it and I kind of detangle it with the water in the shower.  It works pretty well on my fine hair but I couldn't do it everyday without getting dry ends.

So I just shampooed and then vinegar rinsed and then rinsed again and wet-oiled with jojoba oil.  It detangled really easy.  But it is soaking wet and I have no idea what it is going to look like when it dries. ???

Just wondered what everyone's thoughts on this were.

TIA,

I've never tried that - be sure to report back how your hair responds!

I did it a couple times when I was in a hurry and realized when I got out of the shower that I had forgotten to condition.  I'm not sure how it would work long term, but I didn't seem to have any problems when it happened.

I undoubtedly put too much oil in my hair and had a little trouble shampooing it out.  But I have some problems with oiling more times than not.

I think for those who are successful oilers, this would probably work well.  Give it a try!
