Bio Silk

One of my very, very favorite hair products to use is Bio Silk.  I don't have it here with me, so I don't have the info. on who makes it, but I can find that out if anyone is interested.  My current hairdresser uses it on my hair, and I love it so much that I bought one to keep at home too.  It's a finishing product that you can use on your hair damp, or dry (I prefer dry), you just rub a small amount into the palm of your hands and pull it down through your hair to the ends and it makes my hair so silky and shiny, and it smells so good!  Although it is not good to use if you are planning to wear your hair up because it may make it too silky, my hair anyway.  Here is the link anyone wants to check it out!  (It is #4 in the list)

The ingredients listed are :Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone, SD Alcohol 40B, Panthenol, Ethyl Ester of Hydrolyzed Silk, Octyl Methoxycinnamate, Fragrance, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Propylparaben

With silicone products listed as the first 2 ingredients, I would make sure to clarify frequently when this product is used.  The silicones and the silk would make your hair very smooth and slick.

Are the silicone products damaging to the hair?  Is this product just making my hair feel nice while actually damaging?  Or do they just cause a build-up? ???

Silicone type ingredients may damage some hair, but not all hair types seem to experience the damage.  My fine hair cannot handle the -cones.

Cones will coat the hair to make it smooth and shiny.  By doing that it can also hold moisture in the hair shaft, but prevent more moisture from penetrating.  That is why I recommend clarifying - to remove the build up, then moisturizing to replenish the moisture in the hair.
