vacuum trouble

does anyone else have trouble with the vacuum cleaner because of all the long hair it has to pick up? my parents are always complaining that i clog the vacuum up.....especially when my mum cleans my room (i know, i know....at my age i should be the one cleaning my room, but my mum enjoys it.....honestly  Roll Eyes )
just wondering if anyone else has to regularly pull long hairs from the vacuum....and gets hell cos of it  Tongue
they should make special long hair friendly ones...!

When I was a kid, my older sister bleached her hair and grew it longish - longer than shoulder, but I don't think it ever quite got to BSL. She would sit around and "finger comb" her hair, actually just ripping through the mats. The living room carpet was always coated with a net of tangly fragments.

Yep, my mother didn't like that. 8)

I've found you can take a little pair of scissors and snip through the hair trapped in the vacuum brush. That makes it a lot easier to remove the mass of hair.

My mom just lent-rolls the carpet first, it's easy and no hair in the vacuum!

I try to make a point of only combing/brushing my hair in the bathroom.  I can easily sweep the hair from the floor and it keeps it out of the vaccuum cleaner brushes.

back from Canada.. woohoo... takin' a rest at my uncle's house before we drive home..

when I'm on the phone with nothing for my hands to do, I take a potato brush and "scrub" the carpet before vacuuming.. to remove all the hair to form hairballs. Then those hairballs just go in the trash! yay

I think my vaccuum doesn't like to pick up long hairs. I vacuumed my bedroom the other day, and the next morning scraped a handful of hairs off the carpet (I hadn't vacuumed in a long time). Maybe I should take a look at the vacuum brush to make sure it's not too clogged.

And I've also been trying to do my hair only in the bathroom. It is much easier to sweep up any strays.
