Friends shampoo
Apr 17th, 2004 at 5:01am

wow, i just met a girl at a band thingy.  her hair is to her shoulder blades and she complimented me on my hair (long haired people are like a sorority Smiley).  we got to talking and she says she makes her own shampoo!
I wrote it down but haven't tried it yet.  her hair was very healthy so here it is:  one bottle soap base,  1/4 cup lemon juice, 2 tablespoons olive oil,  and some oil i've never heard of emu oil?  I wondering if she made that one up..... Wink

Where does she get emu oil from? Is the lemon juice cause she was blonde? I was thinking of making my own shampoo. Maybe using Dr Bronners liquid castille soap as a base, and adding some oil and maybe rosemary oil. Anyway, I'll experiment with it, but maybe I'll try to find emu oil.

Hey!
If you find out where your friend prefers to buy emu oil, let me know. I just read some things about it and I guess it is good for eczema. I have eczema on my scalp, although not really bad, but i've tried everytying and nothing helps. I'd try anything at this point.

to answer ya'lls questions, i'll try it when I find that magical emu oil, lemon juice clarifies hair not because of the blond thing, in fact her hair is red!  I myself am in serch of emu oil! Wink

I did find a bunch of places on line that sell it, but I'm hesitant to just order from some people on internet I've never heard of. But Amazon sells it from a third party so maybe i'll buy a little and try it out. It's not too spendy really, about the same per oz as jojoba, so i might be able to indulge in my curiousity. If I try it out I'll let you know what it's like.

Emu oil is great for nearly everything! In Britain there is a place called pioneer trading who sell loads of emu oil products... there web address is... www.pioneertrading.co.uk. (the shampoo is lovely and gentle!) Cheesy I don't know if they ship abroad tho.... but it's worth looking!

Thanks for the great link! They seem to ship internationally-I think I'm going to try some of their products right away! Although oils aren't working for me, (jojoba , monoi, coconut) I've never tried Emu oil before- esp. the shampoo sounds interesting Wink
