Help!!!
Apr 1st, 2004 at 2:06am

ok, I've been reading over a few and I cant see any of the pic links, so I need someone to explain to me please something REALLY simple that I can do myself in the mornings.

My hair is.....almost able to sit on it(around 28" last time measured) and slightly wavy, but mainly straight. It will hold a curl for a few hours but the weight of it pulls them out unless I use half a tin of spray which I hate. It gets in my way (I work in an office) but my face is quite round so I need to disguise it a little. My hair itself looks quite thick but its not really.

Please help me.... its time I wowed them!

Are you looking for a style to wear your hair up or down?

For a curly style you could try sock or rag curls (depending on how tight a curl you want).  Wrap damp (not wet) hair around strips of fabric or socks, roll to the scalp then tie the ends.  Sleep on this, then unroll and finger comb in the morning.

For an "updo", you could try a braided bun with some pretty hairsticks (I think you might be able to find a pretty pair here http://www.longlocks.com/)

If these aren't what you are looking for, give us a bit more info to work with  Cheesy

I'd like something which would keep my hair back out of my way, but not so far back that it looks like I'm travelling at 120 mph without a windscreen! I'd like something feminine, but practical. At the moment, I just let it loose. I have a clip that I can pull it back into, but thats too severe. I've tried using grips to pull sections back but they dont stay in because my hair is too fine. I'm at my wits (splits) end!

I like the idea of loose curls, but they dont stay in for the weight of my hair... am I fighting a losing battle here? Is there ANYTHING I can do with it?

If you like the idea of curls, but don't want your hair in your face, you could try the rag/sock curls, then pull the hair from the ears up, back into a barrette, ponytailer, or small bun.  Your hair should be long enough for you to even "knot" this top section of hair and hold it in place with either hair pins or hair sticks.

To help hold the curls better, you could try using some aloe vera gel on the hair as you roll it.  This acts like a setting gel without the drying effect of most setting gels or hair spray.

Your Hair would look good in the braided bun.
