Hello! I've been a lurker for a little while now, and found this post while doing my own search for a more natural dye (I don't want red or black so henna and indigo are out...).
I've used Naturtint a three times so far, the Dark Chestnut Brown, which is almost black on my normally medium ash brown hair. So far my hair has reacted pretty well to it (I have almost waist length hair).
However, it does have Para-phenylenediamine in it. I found some information on the hennaforhair.com site about it, but I haven't read all of it yet. I'm a slacker.
I am now on a search for a more natural dye that will give me dark brown...
These are the ingredients:
Color: Peg-2 Oleamine, Water, Cocamide Dea, Alcohol Denat, Propylene Glycol, Oleic Acid, Ethanolamine, Sodium Sulfite, Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein (Triticum Vulgare, Soy, Corn, Avena Sativa), Sotium Ascorbate, Tetrasodium Edta, Fragrance, p-Phenylenediamine, 4-Chlororesorcinol, 2-Amino-4-Hytroxyethylaminoanisole Sulfate N, N, Bis-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-p-Phenylenediamine Sulfate, m-Aminophenol, 4-Amino-2-Hydroxytoluene.
Color Developer: Water, Hydrogen Peroxide, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Laureth-3, Ceteareth-20, Oxyquinoline Sulfate.
