Do you know how to dutch braid? Just dutch braid starting from the front of your head near your forehead and go back, then when you reach the end of the top of your head just continue down in a normal braid and make as many braids as you want!

No problem! Are you doing cornrows on yourself or on somebody else?

If you braid too tight to the scalp it puts a lot of stress on the hair.  If this is done repeatedly it can cause traction alopecia, a form of hair loss.  Cornrows do require a fairly tight braid to maintain the braids for very long.

FYI:
I found another place that shows how to do cornrows, too, and it doesn't involve a tight braid:

http://www.dressytresses.com/hairstyles/

You need Micro-mini hair claws to do it the way they describe, but they're fairly inexpensive...
