How long is your hair?
Feb 7th, 2003 at 10:32am

My hair is waist length, dark blonde, straight with a few waves on the underside.  I never planned on it getting this long - I just quit having it cut after growing out a pixie.  I am not sure I long I will grow it, but as long as it is still growing and I can find ways to bike with it, I guess I will let it keep growing.

How about the rest of you?  How long is your hair now?  How long have you been growing it?  Do you have a goal for its length?

My hair is bra length.  I'm growing my bangs out now.  They are finally getting managable, almost to ear length. I had blonde hair until last summer when I decided to go natural.  So now I have brown hair with a little gray in about 4 inches of the roots.  Someone told me it looks alright though.  It's very hard to go back to dark - it doesn't stick.  I've been seriously growing my hair for 6 months, but it was already past my sholders.  Bangs are the hardest part for my now.  I can't do much with the rest of it or my bangs will fall out. Shocked

Mine is mid-back at the moment. I really wish it would grow faster. But anyway I have full faith that cutting my hair on March 3rd will cause it to grow faster  Tongue! Haha well I've got to believe in something! My goal is down to my waist again and I haven't yet decided if I'm going to grow out my layers (I have a few layers right at the edge of my hair) and how long I want to grow my hair. I guess I'll just have to wait and see!

My hair is at bra-length at the moment. I had to cut it september 2002 on shoulder length and from this point Iīm letting it grow. I want to get waist-length again and to lose my layers. I hate them they make my hair look more thin than it anyway had become!

My hair is almost waist length. It's not really long though, only 24". I will reach waist length at about 26 inches, I think. I guess I have a short torso.
My goal is tailbone length, about 33"(on me)

It does not sound like you have much further for your bangs to grow before they will work into your styles.  One trick that works particularly well with growing out bangs is to french twist  the hair on each side to your ears or further, depending on what style you are going for.  I still do this when putting my hair in a single braid, pony tail, or half up.  I have a few picture of this in my hair styles album at http://www.picturetrail.com/gallery/view?uid=771714

Keep it growing!

Are you saying that you think cutting your hair with a New Moon helps your hair grow faster?  ???

So sorry to hear you have suffered such hair loss.  Have the loss diminished?  Are you taking any vitamins/supplements to help you with your hair growth journey?

Well, I did read that if you cut your hair on the New Moon it causes it to grow faster as well as cutting your hair on the Full Moon will keep it the same length (helpful to my mother, who keeps her hair above her shoulders and layered so every centimeter that grows out shows). I don't know exactly how it works, but women have a strange connection with the moon, for instance, our periods. I wouldn't be surprised if this actually worked.

Don't worry, E. In October I also suffered *massive* hairloss, and I cut my hair to shoulder length at the end of the month. I realised that the reason for this was because I was not eating, I literally... wasn't eating. I'm vegetarian and no one else in my family is so it's hard to get the proper nutrients, especially protein. Anyway when I realised what my anorexia was doing to my poor hair Sad, firstly I cut it so that it would grow back healthy. Then I began to eat properly, I also take a multivitamin every day. I don't eat junk food at all (what a waste of being 14!!) and I only eat sugar minimally and only on weekends. For my meals I eat vegetable "bhaji" which is just an Indian mix of vegetables with "chappati" which is thin, round bread. This gives me my vegetables and carbohydrates. I make sure I drink a lot of water, and also eat a lot of fruits. Every day I have a glass of milk and an egg (for breakfast). I have a medium framed figure, so I would never look fat, but often when I go out I wear what's called a lengha or a sari which reveals the stomach. This made me want to exercise more so I do sit ups every day as well as run on the treadmill, and I have to run a mile every week in school.

After this new program of eating healthy and taking care of my body, my hair began to grow super fast, it's mid-back length already! It's also extremely healthy, never tangles and also it never... ever... falls. Not even one strand. So remember, treat your body well and your hair will appreciate it!!  Cheesy

My hair is about 2 inches above my knees!  I started growing it out after a bad perm about 23 years ago...I was going to grow it until it hit the back of my knees or I turned 30 (I'll be 40 this year) now I'm trying for mid calf or maybe my ankles  who knows Smiley

The better you eat and take care of yur self the better your hair will be.  My mother-in-law just went through chemotherapy once a week for a year and her hair never fell out and it is more healthy now than it was before.  She says it is the fact that she really has to pay attention to how she eats and she has to take vitamins.
Her hair is a little longer than mid-back and she is 63 now.

Hey Leia

My hair is VERY VERY VERY straight.  I joke that it won't curl on threat of death...even when it was short when I was in junior high (the 70's) it wouldn't hold a curl.

It is a very pretty chestnut brown with some great reddish highlights...all natural!

In my younger days I tortured my hair with perms (no curls from those either only dead and unhappy hair)
I have never colored it...I have a few greys now (early stages of looking like Mel Brooks bride of frankenstein...the highlight grey stripes) It is all good though...at almost 40 a few greys are okay Smiley

My only tips are patience, a pretty good diet, and I try realy hard not to use products like rubberbands that I know will damage my hair, a good boar bristle brush, once or twice a winter I do a hot oil treatment with olive oil...other than that I really don't do anything out of the ordinary.

wash and wear hair!!! Smiley
