You know, I'm having the same trouble here in Atlantic Beach, FL.  NO ONE really answers the question, "What salon is THE BEST in the area?"  EVERYONE just gives me the name of THEIR stylist and always add, "Tell them I sent you" to the answer.  I don't want to deprive anyone from the perk or discount they may get by giving a referral, but I want THE BEST stylist I can find, even if it breaks me for a week or two.  It's REALLY frustrating and I've not even found anything on the internet under "fine salons...." or "Best Salons..."

And you can't rely on commercials either.  I'd always heard that a particular salon where I used to live was THE BEST, and the head "master stylist" charged $60 for a cut.  Well, at the time I couldn't afford that so I asked for one of the other stylists.  I told her to take ONE INCH off the length.  Not only did she take a FULL 3 INCHES but I had IMMEDIATE split ends as if she used dull scissors!  No kidding.  I got home and looked in the mirror and I could see that "dusty" appearance where all the split ends were.  Bottom line, I left with a LOT less hair and every single end split... more than it was before I went in!

In Ormond Beach (just north of Daytona Beach ) there is a wonderful long hair salon called Tammera's for Long Hair.  She recieved her training in New York and is the best stylist I have ever seen.!!!! Her number is 386-677-1064 and she is open wed thru sat by appointment only.  However, consultations are free.
