I've got hair that's down to about bra line, or a bit lower..../sniffles, I had it down to waist while I was pregnant, and then for some strange hormonal reason, I cut it...and /gasp....put in some layers after the baby was born....

Anyway, I'm thinking of putting it into dread locs while the layers grow out....  I have no clue about how one would do such a thing (I'm very fair skinned, and have straight, fine hair, but lots of it).  Any suggestions or sites that give instructions?  Does it terribly damage your hair?
