Title: January 2010 Post by brunette85 on Jan 1st, 2010 at 11:47am
Well it looks as though I am growing, 18.5" this month.
I was very sick a few weeks ago. I am still a bit sore from the pneumonia. I am glad my mother got me those massage gift certificates for my birthday back in August. I have not used them and now I know why; I need them now lol. Anyway, I know my growth is less because I was sick and my body is still trying to heal. However, I do know what my genetic potential is. Back in September, I cut my mother’s hair. She has not had a trim since and her hair is about 3 inches longer. Which means her hair grows approximately ¾ of an inch a month. Therefore, I know I can get that when I am at my strongest and healthiest. I am still grateful for the growth I received. I look at it as natures New Year’s gift to me. Oh, I put up a new signature picture. Happy New Year Everyone! |

I'm measuring in at 26". I have a trim on Tuesday, however I don't expect her to take off any length.
brunette85, I'm glad you're on the mend. I suggest taking some ibuprofen before your first massage, 'cause it will probably be pretty rough. Your curls are coming along nicely. Does your son have curly hair? |

Sakina Thank you. I am pretty happy about my progress.
Yes, my son does have curly hair. I just started using oil in his hair at bath time as we as putting a little in with his water. He smells so good after and his hair looks great. |

24" today, at my longest layer!! After no growth for 5 mo., it's very good to see it's back to my usual 1/2" per month. Apparently my hair was in a resting phase, which started out with a massive shed in June, which totally freaked me out :o. But all is well now and perhaps waist length is still possible. My hairdresser is doubtful, given the very fine texture of my hair, but we will see. :)

34.5"
Might be a bit more than that, but I'm rounding to the nearest half-inch for simplicity's sake. |

Well I'm starting out 2010 with 21 3/4". I've never measured my hair correctly before. So we'll see how fast I'm actually growing. Hm...
I just trimmed it, and that took off about an inch and a half. I hadn't gotten a trim for months because I didn't have the money to drop and... dangit I didn't want to give up the length. :-[ But the ends were getting to the point where they'd tangle within 30 minutes of a brushing. :-/ Not fun. So I found Feye's self trimming guide and gave myself a U-shape. Talk about nerve wracking! I've never trimmed my own hair before. But it worked. And I'm never going to a salon and dropping $30 for a hairstylist to take more than what I told them to cut again. Lol. I also just bought a boar bristle brush which I absolutely love and am already seeing results from, as well as Infusium 23 Leave-In Treatment (moisturologie). Loving that too, so far. :) |
