I agree, I prefer her long hair although it needed a deep treatment.

Clearly she has some self esteem issues and probably would have benefited greatly from regular visits to a psychiatrist more than a hairdresser.  Too bad she didn't teach herself to properly care for her hair and learn how to style it.  Maybe then she could have accepted it.  She may have swingy hair now, but it doesn't change how she feels about herself and the world.

As little as I like (not at all!) Liz Jones and DM I actually bothered to read this through a long time ago.  At the time I read it first, my conclusion were pretty close to yours.  I've got my own issues and I have a habit of focusing on superficial stuff I can control when I can't control the serious and deeper stuff in life so I can't really point fingers at her in that regard.
